Fun & Effective Ways to Stay Fit

Not me writing this after devouring 3 servings of fries😅😂. Potatoes don't counnttt😭😂.Being an adult means you're stacking up more calories because you're not out playing and mostly are just stuck on a chair for almost 8 hrs per day. So we have to be creative in ways to stay healthy and fit and we're going to look at simple ways for us to keep fit:  Swimming . Very low  impact sport and honestly pretty affordable. If you can't swim, don't worry I got you covered. Luck for you, I am a swimming instructor and just for you I'll offer you free swimming lessons for the first two lessons😂😂. Don't worry fam, I got you😏 Cycling . OK OK, I can't lie to y'all😅, I can't cycle to save my life😂. But,😂 I heard it's a great form of exercise since it pretty much incorporates your whole body. So if you can cycle or are willing to learn you should do it during your free time for at least an hr. Drink water . First thing in the morning people and i...

A Soundtrack to Life: Hildah Watiri

Based on her discography. I could describe Hildah Watiri as an all round creative(Singer, songwriter, Guitarist, actor, media practitioner and film producer and writer) as she incorporates and experiments with different sounds creating her own version of afro fusion/pop, soul and rnb which you can clearly pick up from her music. Coming from a musician background, Hildah Watiri has been in tune (see what I did there😂) with harmonies thanks to her dad but took up singing in high school where she was part of a girl band. Performing in various school events is what eventually made her discover her love of the art.  Her instrument of choice is the guitar which is part of her creative process that varies from cute love songs to up-tempo music you can dance to. Y'know whatever she's in the mood for which is the best way to create I would say✰. Hildah Watiri's growth in the Kenyan music scene can be seen through collabs with other local artists like Kayrop in so loved ...

Hair products recommendations For Healthier Hair✨️

From shampoos to conditioners to gels to hair oil, I mean, buying hair products can be overwhelming. But need not worry (ik, what?😂) everything Melanin to the rescue... again:) But don't worry guys I don't mind I like doing these kinds of stuff 😂.  I will recommend some of the brands and products that leave my hair feeling the best but first, tips on how to choose good hair products. 1. Read the ingredients. Very important guys and try to abstain from products with more than 7 ingredients because that means there's more chemicals in it which is not healthy for your hair. If the first ingredient is water, take it, its a good product. For oils you want to go for an ingredient list of one, just the oil it claims to be for example if it's castor oil, that should be the only ingredient listed. 2. Do some research. Before purchasing a product you can check its reviews online or go on YouTube and I'm sure there's a video regarding the product. 3. Deep condi...

City Under The Sun

Nairobi, the city that never sleeps. Growing up and basically living here all my life, I really never got to appreciate Nairobi until I got older and started exploring the city. When you look at it from a tourist perspective there's really a lot to discover in the city. From music to eateries to views even a whole national park, (which is the only city with a national park in the world!), there is so much diversity.  Even just within the CBD, I bet 9/10 of you have never been inside Archives👀 I mean it's not just a landmark guys😂. And KICC which is one of the tallest buildings in Kenya and you can pay little money to go all the way to the top for pretty epic views. Then later you can go to Klabu for decent priced food and out of this world combos I'm telling you.  There is a scene for everyone due to the diversity when it comes to different cuisine. So if you'd maybe like to expand your pallet and experience different kinds of food from different cultures luckily, f...

HRS 400

Hiking Mt. Kenya was one of the best experiences of my life and that says a lot considering how anti social I am😅. First off, shoutout patrol Pumba which was hands down the best patrol😂. I mean, Paw patrol was also alright since it was my initial group😅😂. Day 1  Was the trip to Mt Kenya national park so we pretty much didn't have to walk which was a relief for me because I was feeling a bit under the weather👀😂.We later got there around the evening time where shoutout Sarah who taught me how to cut kale really well😂. Day 2   Was officially our first  hiking  day  to Old Moses camp which was ok considering our pre-hike was almost 30km. Shoutout Patrol Dikdik who were starting the hike in high spirits with songs😂. The hike took maybe six hours(I'm not sure of the exact time because my phone literally died before we made it out of Nairobi 😂). After pitching the tents people found different forms of entertainment such as playing cards o...

Met Gala 2023

The Met Gala, a time to be Miranda Priestley😂. Yes...this year's theme was Karl Laferfeld;A Line of Beauty and all I can say is the males ate goddammit 🥵. I mean, the females did alright too😂 but there is such an improved sense of fashion for the males and we love to see it. My fave male and female was Anok Yai because that girl eats every single time. Bryan Tyree Henry(paper boiiii🕺🏿) killed hands down the best male on the carpet in my opinion. Here are some of my other fave looks; Anok Yai , my gworlll all time fave, always serves.🤎 Halle and Chloe 's hair stylist is the true star I meannn😂. Yara Shahidi 's face card never declines because oof.🫠 Tems representingg!! She looked so pretty😌. Rihanna always serves regardless. Her shades tho🥶... cold. Doja came true to her name😂😂. It was Ice Spice 's first Met and she's already bringing it!! Love me some Ice Spice😗. Burna Boy Defo did not come to playy.🔥 Keke Palmer is so pretty😍 inside and out.  L...

Best Protective Styles For Length Retention.

As someone with textured hair, protective styles come in clutch for me😂 I meann, I do love my natural hair don't get me wrong, but a little break from it doesn't hurt once on a while😅. Plus protective styles are super cute and easily manageable so it's literally a win win lol.  So, picking a good protective hairstyle can be a lot because there's such variety thankfully 😂. But a few key notes you should consider when picking out an appropriate protective style; Your edges  Honestly at this point I'm not sure if I have a KSI forehead or my edges have been pushed all the way back😂😂(this is a serious issue btw🥲😂) Just tell your hair stylist to leave your edges alone😭 ,trust me, I'm saving you from a seven head and a receding hairline😂 Tension Too much pulling is very detrimental to your hair growth and hair care. If you see th...
